About our Appointments System

Urgent (Same Day) Appointments

If you feel that your medical problem cannot wait for a routine appointment call the health centre on 020 7411 6866. The receptionist will need to take some details about the problem and arrangements will be made for you to be seen by the doctor as soon as possible.

General Information

You can make an appointment with any doctor, but we recommend that you see the same doctor whenever possible. Our appointment system allows you to make an appointment either on the day or up to two weeks beforehand, depending on availability.

We will always endeavour to let you book an appointment with the doctor of your choice at a time that suits you best. This is obviously not always possible especially at times of high demand (usually around the holiday periods) and when doctors are on holiday. We are constantly reviewing the appointment system to offer a range of availability.

Children under 16 years old should be accompanied by an adult. If more than one member of your family wants to see the doctor, please make a separate appointment for each of them.

Nursing Appointments

Our nursing services are provided by routine pre-bookable appointments only. Please contact reception to book your appointment.

Telephone Advice

Telephone Advice may include queries about a prescription, a test result, a hospital appointment, a referral, a form that needs to be completed or advice about a minor ailment. Please call and ask the receptionist who will be able to help you.

Telephone Consultations with your Doctor

The doctors and nurses are happy to provide advice over the telephone. If you would like to speak to one of the doctors or nurses please ask reception to pass on a message and one of the doctors or nurses will call you back and discuss your problem at an allotted time. Please make sure you give the correct phone number to the receptionist.

NHS 111

Advice is also available from the NHS 111 service by calling 111 from your landline or mobile phone.

Chaperones

If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged. Alternatively bring along a member of your family or friend to your appointment.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you are unable to attend for your appointment please tell us in good time so that we are able to offer another patient the use of that appointment.

You can use one of the following methods:

  1. Cancel Online using Patient Access:
    Cancel Your Appointment online using Patient Access.
  2. By Telephone: Please call us on 020 7411 6866.
  3. By Text: If you receive a text reminder and cannot attend the appointment please text back 'cancel'.
  4. By Fax: Please send us a fax on 020 7411 6857.
  5. In Person: Call into your surgery and let the receptionist know in person.

We can offer your appointment to someone else and therefore help to reduce waiting times.

As part of our commitment to all our patients we monitor the efficient use of appointments. If a patient regularly fails to attend a booked appointment, the practice reserves the right to remove them and their family from the practice list.

Free Text Reminders

This service reminds you of an appointment via a text message. All registered patients are automatically opted into the service.

Please ensure if you wish to use this service we have your correct mobile telephone number and inform us as soon as possible if your number changes.

If you do not wish to subscribe please contact the surgery and inform reception that you wish to opt out.
